  • Introducing the amazing, self-balancing Uno Transformer from BPG Motors.

The Uno is a motorized tricycle that can actually transform into a two-wheeled, self-balancing Segway—that is, when it’s not acting as a really neat way to piss off jealous friends.

And you thought The Dark Knight aka Bruce Wayne had all the cool toys.

  • Mac App Store Open for Business

That’s right all-iFaithful. Apple today announced that the much anticipated Mac App Store is officially open for business.

Further adding to the delight and in true Apple fashion, a dedicated feature page has been assembled for us to drool over and salivate while we eagerly update our superior computing environments to Mac OS X 10.6.6 which is the price of entry before our grubby fingers are allowed to touch.

    Enjoy!

  • European Carriers Want Apple and Google to Pay for Network Upgrades

Hello YouTube Mobile and Facebook for iPhone your pleasure might actually be causing pain; but only for those acting as a catalyst.

In a request that has more audacity than a newly shined Bugatti Veyron, several European Carriers––including France Telecom and Vodafone––are banding together and demanding that companies such as Apple, Google, and even Facebook make specific contributions toward upgrading and sustaining their data network infrastructure.

I’m not sure I understand the thinking here.

    The Questions.

Aren’t the carriers the ones who inked the deal to bring these data-intensive phones to their subscribers?

Were they not aware of the capabilities of smart phones?

Where they not already making infrastructural upgrades in anticipation of mass data consumption?

Have the upgrades over time just simply proved to expensive and so much so that they’re looking for someone else to foot the bill?

Oddly, some people agree that Facebook should pay AT&T for the serge in customer usage. And this makes perfects sense if you also believe that GM and Ford should be charged for road maintenance as their trucks and SUVs are heavier thus putting more stress on the roads than say a 2-door Volkswagen Golf.

    Ridiculous.

  • Facebook’s Gmail Killer Is Here

Bye-bye “brb” and “g2g”. Facebook’s new messaging system wants to keep the gossip alive.

On the cusp of deafening speculation that the California-based dominate social network would soon roll out a “Gmail killer” Facebook today announced their newest baby and one that I think is exactly what the next generation of conversation needs to be.

Invite-only and temporarily just for “the exclusives”, Facebook’s new message system aims to redefine what communication looks like.

For the first time you can read and respond to any medium of message any way you please.

If your aunt in Alaska prefers to communicate through email but you’d rather chat via SMS no problem says the team heading up the new initiative.

Your aunt in Alaska can send an email to your @facebook.com email address and it gets delivered to you as a text message.

You can reply via that text message or pick it up through facebook but no matter what you choose to reply on, your aunt will get an email back.

That same email could be delivered to you IM window or within a Facebook chat. Or a chatty friends SMS message could be directed to your Yahoo and picked up later and on and on it goes.

No more having to sign into Gmail to check and respond to emails. You can now get all your conversations, categorized by level of importance according to you, in one centralized location.

Facebook is introducing a way for you and your recipients to interact through many forms of communication without burdening each other to switch to the same channel in order talk.

Text to email, email to IM and even chat. It’s now all one seamless conversation.

But is if a Gmail killer? Today? No. But tomorrow is a different day.
